Drawing on manga inspirations, in particular Lady Oscar from Rose of Versailles, Ryan Lo delivered a romantic collection that explored the roots of ‘kawaii’. This season his army of models mimicked the doe-eyed girls of Rune Naito’s illustrations, with bouffant hair and retro-looking frocks. As with Lo’s previous collections, feminine details were abundant; bows, feathers, frills, lace and ribbons featured throughout. Collaboration is a key element within this young designer’s collections and this season was no different, once again working with the renowned Stephen Jones to create bear skin hats and extravagant ear muffs. Some of our personal highlights included ankle grazing metallic lace dresses, pussy bow necklines and bow adorned boots. We joined the designer backstage for an exclusive insight into the collection and the exciting build up to the latest show.
