This months edit comes courtesy of multi-talented model, poet and writer, Kay Smetsers. Not only has she worked for designers and top brands such as Gucci, Miu Miu, Ann Demeulemeester, Rodarte and Marc Jacobs, Kay is also making a name for herself thanks to her enviable personal style. Mixing vintage with contemporary designer pieces as well as a few off-kilter accessories, her style is romantic and fuses together a variety of references from ballet costumes and school uniforms, to prairie dresses and 19th century oil paintings. Take a look at Kay’s favourite pieces below…

1. Love Stories lace bra

Emerging Dutch lingerie brand Love Stories is one of my favourites. I like how all of their pieces seem to have been designed meticulously and with great attention to detail. This bra would look extra cute worn layered with a ballet-style wrap cardigan.

2. Simone Rocha jacquard midi dress

This Simone Rocha midi dress is loose fitting and has amazing puffed out sleeves, it’s something I will always feel comfortable wearing.

3. Franny and Zooey book

Franny and Zooey by J.D Salinger is my favourite book! A must read for anyone interested in both literature and spirituality. I feel a great affinity with Franny. The novel feels dense at times..too much almost, but I promise that the last page will leave you feeling at peace with life.

4. Harris Reed velvet blouse

I discovered Harris Reed after we both walked the Gucci Cruise 2019 show. The Victoria inspired blouses and excessively big sequinned hats he creates are divine! Plus, I admire his strive for more fluidity with in fashion.

5. Prada key chain

Anything with bows makes my heart race! This adorable key chain from Prada does just that! The handy clip means that this could also be used as a cute bag charm.

6. YSL white mascara

A makeup artists once used this Yves Saint Laurent white mascara on me, and I was sold right away. I love the ethereal look you can create with this. Paired with bleach brows, it makes the perfect Renaissance look.

7. Mulberry sling back flats

For me, shoes make the outfit. I usually stick with a pair of classic Mary-janes, but these cut-out jewelled flats from Mulberry look rather fun to me as well!

8. Buly Huile body oil

I love Buly Huile antique body oil, not only for its excellent moisturising capabilities, but also because the amazing packaging that makes this product look ancient! It also smells absolutely divine!
