Fashion Editor Rachel Bakewell selects her favourite pieces from the month. This week she’s admiring the work of artist Faye Wei Wei, discovering new scents from Diptyque and planning ahead for spring summer.

1. Faye Wei Wei Painting

I recently discovered the amazing works of artist Faye Wei Wei. A graduate of the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art, the South London based 24 year old creates large scale dreamy paintings that explore love, masculine tropes and gender identity. I love the kind of fantasy world depicted in her works and the way she embraces femininity.

2. Crown Love Pearly Queen Crown

Forget hair clips and slides, headbands are now the accessory to be seen with. Prada, Miu Miu and Simone Rocha all featured headbands within their SS19 collections and I’m keen to follow suit and embrace the trend. Amazing British brand Crown Love have a gorgeous range of styles that are adorned in velvet, lace, pearls, jewels and flowers. My personal favourite is this white vintage lace and pearl number.

3. Ulla Johnson Whitely Mini Dress

Ulla Johnson has designed the perfect little white dress in a ditsy floral print with beautiful frilly neck and yoke. A mix of cotton and organza makes this perfect for summer and if you can’t wait till then, pair with tights to see you through spring.

4. Ganni Floral Wide Brim Hat

This brilliant take on the typically utilitarian safari style hat by Ganni is wonderfully refreshing and the perfect summer hat. This classic hat has been updated with a charming ditzy floral print, black top stitching and tie-trim. This design is an exclusive for mytheresa.com, so best get one before they sell out.

5. YSL La Laque Couture Nail Polish in Clandestine Silver

This YSL nail varnish is perfect for all occasions. The Clandestine Silver is muted enough that you can wear it everyday, yet the pearl-effect shimmer makes it perfect to wear out in the evenings or to a special occasions.

6. Seoul Import Hair Claw

I’ve been a big fan of Seoul Import since a friend introduced me to them last year.  Not only do they make the most beautiful hair accessories, they are also eco-friendly! I adore this mint rose hair claw, perfect for fuss free hair styling.

7. Chanel Sea Shell Bag

Since seeing the SS19 catwalk show titled ‘Sur la plage’, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this amazing, shell shaped bag! Pearly white with a chic chain, gold clasp and of course the legendary double ‘C’ logo. It speaks for itself. (Available in store: Chanel, 158-159 New Bond Street, London, W1S 2UB – 02074935040)

8. Alexa Chung Juju Shoes

Only Alexa Chung could make jelly shoes chic – and that she has! The classic transparent sandal has been updated with a beautiful crystal buckle. Pair with metallic socks for ultimate 90’s playground throwback.

9. Diptyque Lys Candle

My new favourite scent comes from Diptyque and this amazing ‘Lys’ candle. Smelling of freshly cut lilies, once lit its as though you’re surrounded by fresh blooms. Romantic and relaxing.
