The scrunchie is definitely making a come back. Much like Marmite I find that you either love or hate them. Personally I’m a big fan, though I try to avoid the 80s-90s throwback. Rather than looking like an extra from Saved By The Bell, I like to opt for styles a little more chic. Try this gorgeous silk velvet bow scrunchie from Alex Eagle. Wear this with a low and loose pony tail tied at the nape of the neck. The perfect stylish accent to any outfit.
This season I am absolutely besotted with Simone Rocha’s latest bag offering. This charming floral shaped bag is all I can think about! Everything about it is a hit in my eyes –  the shape, the retro style clasp, the detachable and adjustable straps. It would be the perfect evening bag to add a whimsical touch of femininity to your outfit.
I’ve been a fan of Cecilie Bahnsen’s beautiful designs for a few years now, her collections never fail to make me swoon! This Alberte taffeta dress is the perfect example of her aesthetic, with feminine details such as numerous pleats, billowing balloon sleeves, a ruffled neck and delicate bow ties – dark yet romantic. Wear with boots to juxtapose all that femininity or with dainty flats for more formal occasions.
Classic french shoe brand Carel have been creating stylish chic shoes for years. I recently stumbled across these amazing Kina Pumps and haven’t stopped thinking about them. A classic mary-jane style with a low block heel, given a contemporary twist in silver and with three straps. You can’t go wrong with a classic shoe like this.
Loup Charmant specialises in diaphanous, feminine clothing for the everyday. Inspired by the fuss-free appeal of beach dressing, their clothing is easy to wear and minimal yet feminine and romantic. I adore these sweet ruffled bloomer briefs. Pair with a cotton camisole for lazing on the beach or at home.
Drawing inspiration from her experiences growing up in Johannesburg and Paisley, artist Elaine Speirs’ work focuses on themes of fragility, contradiction and reinvention. Exploring ideas such as the  depersonalisation women and fleeting moments of humanity, she creates beautiful abstract portraits. I love this piece depicting a group of girls, their pose appears intimate yet the lack of detail and clarity created through Speirs’ signature style of wiping and layering paint adds a contradictory element of mystery to the group.
Apple and Figs’ Éclat Sevigné collection celebrates ribbons as timeless icons of femininity and elegance (I couldn’t agree more!) and a symbol of true love and unspoken emotions. If these sterling silver and cubic zirconia earrings don’t scream of true love, then I don’t know what does! The perfect gift for a loved one – or a treat for yourself!
