Although first ever in the history of the brand, Shrimps’ fashion show for Autumn/Winter 2019 was an absolute dream. Best known for their flowy jacquard dresses, colorful fur coats and must-have pearly Antonia handbags, the young brand presented their newest collection during London Fashion Week and everything about the show was a great representation of Hannah Weiland’s inspiration behind the looks. As the collection journeys into the world of Greek myths, stories that tell of the creation of the world and the Gods and Goddesses that have continually inspired art, literature and culture, the guests have been invited into a Greek mythology scenery with a celestial backdrop painted by artist Ryan Driscoll depicting goddesses that represent strength, femininity and power such as Amphitrite, Goddess of the Sea, Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and Culture and Venus, Goddess of Love.
The beautiful collection included ethereal Grecian style dresses and jacquard prints in the vibrant colour palette of banana yellow, soft apricot, peacock blue in celebration of the feminine silhouette, feel and mythological stories.
The show was undoubtedly a success as the London-based label received huge support on their debut show. The front row filled with real-life goddesses dressed in some of the Shrimp’s most recognisable pieces. Some of the guests included Greta Bellamacina, Adwoa Aboah, Linda Tol, Susie Bubble, Pixie Geldof, Kate Foley and many more, who showed inspiration on how to style Shrimps items in various ways.
